I had a dream

HTML everything. Desktop apps as mere browser controls that extends a js object to communicate with the actual program. Even the command line was replaced like this. There was nothing but a browser, and it was the os. HTML generation functionality was added to the standard library.

I often have prophetic dreams. Have no doubt that this is the future of computing.

In a sense, this type of interface would be nice.

Instead of dealing with the clutter of libraries like wxwidgets, qt, and gtk, you would instead design the UI with HTML and CSS, and write your program to interface with the local web server, and never have to make a mess of your code to deal with annoying GUI libraries.

Imagine writing your program without the clutter of nasty GUI libraries, and instead simply connecting to a web server and providing hooks for it to use, and then using HTML, CSS, and Javascript to create a user interface, all while keeping your own codebase nice and neat.

Well, that doesn't sound so bad. People (or, more likely, the UX `expert' shitheads plauging popular OS dev teams) could inject javashit to customize their UI. It might also mean the death of infinitely shitty libraries like GTK and less shitty one's like Qt.
