self-preservation and the continuation of it's own genetic data/species are not forgotten because Homo sapiens is highly social. But because of human social nature sexual needs may be ignored, or repressed, or even satisfied through logic, guilt, social pressure, or plain old masturbation (including wet dreams).

It's slow going but the gene view is slowly being replaced and the mocking of evo-psychology is growing and growing.
