A few years back I noticed that the ``female'' was being used more and more often by Americans where ``woman'' would be more typical. I mostly noticed it from two groups: People in the military and black people. Usually, but not always, from men. At first I just figured it was someone trying to sound more correct or proper or scientific, but as it became more common in everyday speech it started to sound almost ironic, then it became almost natural to hear. Recently, though, it's dawned on me that those motherfuckers were talking about pussy the whole time. It blew my goddamn mind.

Maslow's hierarchy isn't necessarily about happiness, it's about the desires of a fully-grown animal -- self-preservation and the continuation of it's own genetic data/species are not forgotten because Homo sapiens is highly social. But because of human social nature sexual needs may be ignored, or repressed, or even satisfied through logic, guilt, social pressure, or plain old masturbation (including wet dreams).
