This guy (Arthur T Murray) has been spouting his crank AI theories since the days of Usenet. He's on Reddit these days, and mostly keeps to /r/mentifex. Of late, he's been spouting his crap on /r/perl, as if to bless us with his groundbreaking work. His code makes professional programmers cringe--the file starts with defining a million global variables--and the resulting program is more likely to produce AI entirely by happenstance than anything deliberate. Why would you advertise this?
Murray used the US postal system to spread his ideas by mass-mailing prominent AI researchers, computing authors, and sometimes even entire university departments.
