NNTPChan (previously known as overchan) is a decentralized imageboard that uses nntp to synchronize content between many different servers. It utilizes cryptographically signed posts to perform optional/opt-in decentralized moderation.
There should be something like the OS-tans for protocols. HTTP-chan would be a popular, if a bit dizzy, girl who can do everything possible, but nothing really well. FTP-chan would be her fat friend that always gets overshadowed and is always losing screen time to HTTP-chan. SMTP-chan is a mean-spirited bitch who gives people unsolicited advice all the time and is always thinking up new schemes to bilk the others out of money, and reports all the gossip she hears to some off-screen characters. IP-chan is a mother figure to all the girls and lovingly ensures all their needs are met, but she does show slight favoritism at times.
