What's the point?

Why does this board even exist? 90% of it belongs in either /g/ (technology threads) or r/TheRedPill (women hating, racism). The rest is certainly well within the board topics of some of the other boards on this site. Absolutely nothing that gets posted here is in any way interesting or that I couldn't get from browsing the "haskell" section on reddit. There might have been some special or interesting about this board in the past, but it has certainly been lost a long time ago. The moderation has smothered anything remotely unique about this board to death. Why don't we just give up the fucking ghost and delete this board, so topics will be made on the boards that they actually belong on? I have included a picture of a touhou, lest anyone think that this post is somehow "off-topic", whatever the fuck that even means here.

LISP is the point

The whole LISP and SICP thing might sound stupid but listening to people on the internet can be fruitful. On IRC and on /prog/ they told me to read SICP, do the exercises, etc. I did that diligently. Then I went into a CS program and I was top of my class (in the like top 1-2%) in all the programming classes, also got a job in one of the top programming companies. I think SICP and LISP helps you build confidence and skill as a programmer. Metalinguistic abstraction for example, that's quite a big idea, if you can understand and apply that than surely you can do object-oriented programming which seems quite less sophisticated in comparison. Well, that's just my experience, I am pretty yougn and stupid so it might be wrong, but I sense that the whole LISP thing is not just a stupid joke.
