these people formed a targetted harassment campaign against a python dev and forced him to step down from the project.

1)Gamergate
2)Tweets, calling in to office and home, posting address and phone number online so other people can call, threatening to shoot up people at an event if a certain person assists, you know, the works.
3)The only proof is that he's following like every Gamergate figurehead on his Twitter account.

I don't know if the allegations against "Roberto" are legit or not but I'm just saying that if your employer hears about those kind of allegations, he'll at least take a good, hard second look at you. Especially if you're supposed to represent the company for a pro-diversity event. So yeah, that's enough of a reason to cave in.

It's important to remember that, at the end of the day, it's all just FIOC.
