Out of nothing I have created a strange new universe

Have you read your SICP today?

As a programmer, you have godlike power to conjure any universe you wish with decadent impunity. Consider the machine at your fingertips. It is waiting for you to create, it is waiting for you to describe a new world, a new universe with unknown possibilities.

Instead, too many are wasting this potential. There are too many skins on databases, too many so-called "games" that seem to think that recreating this world and restricting the vocabulary of the protagonist to just the verb "commit violence" is the highest form of creativity that can be achieved on a computer. This is a criminal waste of the potential of the computer.

Please do more than this. Create universes.

That is possible too.
It will still run in exponential time in this universe, but in the simulated universe, it will run in linear time.

For example, simulating quantum computers on a digital computer. In the mundane world we exist in, the simulation runs in exponential time. In the world of the simulation, it runs in polynomial time.

You need to appreciate the spirit of the words "create universes". Don't limit yourself to this quotidian universe, the mundane one our bodies are stuck in. There are greater realms to explore. Wondrous realms, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross; but it's not for the timid.
