So they jailed Al Capone for tax evasion, but did that forced him to pay taxes? In fact, Al Capone became liability, so they had to pay for his incarceration.

>>1 False. The government confiscated a lot of assets after his conviction and would certainly have come out in profit from the whole ordeal not even mentioning the PR.

Uncle Al Capone by Deirdre Marie Capone, who is Capone's niece, wrote that 2 things happened to his money. She state's in this book that Capone hid millions of dollars of his money and buried it, but by the time he was let out of prison he was too mentally ill to remember where any of it was and she also believed that a lot of his associates stole from him while he was locked up.
Capone's niece goes on to say that she believed that the way he was treated in prison led more to the decimation of his cognitive skills and that the syphilis story, though maybe true, was an attack on her uncle's character in order to hide the horrible abuse he received while incarcerated.

>>6 If you are asserting that Capone didn't have significant assets surrendered to the government; that's false.
