Post-truth society

Name: Anonymous 2018-11-16 19:55

Recently, there has been a significant rise in all sorts of anti-scientific, anti-rational beliefs, practices, worldviews.
Mounting distrust towards the most reliable sources of knowledge, ridicule of rational inquiry, legislation that aims to silence the known facts - those weren't anywhere near as powerful at the beginning of this decade.

Why is it so?
Is it because scientific method keeps producing consistent results that offend those who believe in supernatural?
Is it business catching up with changes in society and exploiting the new means of exploitation?
Is it some malicious Eastern influence aiming to reduce the West to centrally-managed propaganda centers surrounded by brainless minions? Or maybe the power hungry politicians of the West doing it to "their own" people to secure their votes?
Or is it just average human brain that still hasn't caught up with advances in technology, getting overloaded with information, being unable to separate garbage from the reliable information due to own laziness, biases and inability to verify the fucking source?

It can't be a coincidence that corrupt populists started winning all over the world at the same time that anti-vaxxers, CAM quacks, climate denialists, religious loons, national and ethic supremacists, all experience a renaissance.

Something is really wrong.
It wasn't this wrong when millenials were entering adulthood.
Zoomers may have avoided a world that was optimistic (ie. deluded) regarding the economy, but they're up for a world more deluded when it comes to worldviews.
When provably wrong opinion of an insincere businessman posted on twitter is taken as more reliable than scientific consensus, you just know shit's fucked.

This isn't unique to our generation. I think it has something to do with public education getting exponentially worse.

You do realize that somebody who ascribed to all those labels would be right about literally everything don't you? So long as it was American Christian. The only post-truth around here is what the kikes are spewing, I suggest you look into that.

Don't change these.
