Why do people care about the future?

Are they just NPCs or do most people really think they'll live on after death to observe the planet's future? Maybe I'm autistic, but I just can't see why the future, in general, should matter to me or anybody else alive.

But even on this board I see people posting "we should do this or that to improve things in the future" and I'm like "whatever fag" but others actually engage in the conversation as if it matters. What's going on? Can anybody here who cares about the future explain their reasoning?

It's so painfully obvious we're talking about the future beyond your death, not the future you will "be a part of".

Do you understand that your death doesn't erase your contributions and influences?
Future isn't just the remainder of your physical NPC life.
