If you make a post or thread and it gets responded to, nine times out of ten it's because you said something horribly retarded and people are expressing their butthurt. Intelligent, thought-out, witty, insightful posts and threads on the other hand will rarely elicit a response.
This is not just because /lounge/ users are retarded but more because they are unconfident in their own intellectual abilities so refrain from responding to intelligent, thought-out, witty, insightful posts lest they embarrass themselves. These same users, had they seen your post on reddit, would upvote but here all they can do is appreciate it silently and move on..
What this means is you cannot rely on the reward-sensation of receiving feedback to know whether you made a good post or not. You must rely instead on your own inner feeling of satisfaction. Failure to do this will lead you to misunderstand what constitutes a good post on /lounge/ that people like, leading to you making only baity shitposts that everybody hates. You can already see this happening.
