In my economics class, the professor said economics is figuring out how to satisfy infinite desire with our finite resources. But is desire really infinite?
I just want a family and a small house in a peaceful area. That doesn't seem like unlimited desire to me. I think my professor is subconsciously spreading the capitalist propaganda she's been brainwashed with, to think of people as economic units rather than human beings.
In many cases, demand is created artificially through marketing and advertising. No one wants or seeks out Coca-Cola, but the machines and everywhere, and so are the ads. Unlimited desire, my ass.
