The web is already dead. Every new company now spends all their effort on their app first. Facebook gets 90% of its traffic from its app, and the remaining 10% is office workers goofing off or boomers using their boomtops.

Apps are just ads for apps at this point. Whenever you try to use a mobile site, it tells you to install the app.

This is because the web is too open and has limits on what a website can do. This is too pro-user and anti-company. Businesses want to do even more extreme data mining, pushing a million notifications to you, etc.

Plus you can easily reverse a web app or their private api from their web app. All web apps are basically open source. Meanwhile it’s literally impossible to do the same with a native app if they took the most basic precautions.
