'Wholesome stuff' is mind-numbing appeasement of the human condition. Its just a veneer of normality and conformity, an expression of status quo. Just like a message from our benevolent rulers thats All Right with the World. Just having something pleasurable, a sliver of true comfort to escape the daily soul-destroying grind. Sounds like a great deal? The purported anti-negativity is not genuine, this mental comfort food, this emotional prole-feed is another 'opiate of the masses' replacing religious belief. This is just a temporary state of mind, wholesome things are not truly comforting, in the end they only cause dissonance and dissatisfaction with our current state of affairs. World isn't made of cute kitten videos.
