Companies bending to governments is old news. It has been so ever since the first time a government taxed, fined or arrested someone from a company according to one or another policy, and the company couldn't do shit. And guess what, they still can't do shit. Their public relations don't matter squat. The public that loves them also can't do much against the government. A people boycotting a government is the kind of thing that changes regimes, and is also very rare, and depends on multiple offenses, not only a bit. Do you see the Russian people angry at the Russian government enough to boycott it? Because it's the Russian people that affect Google policy at Russia, not the American people.
