Sure, but it should be a last resort, only used if the child refuses to accept the logical reasoning. The job of the parent is not to control the child, but to teach the child how to take care of themselves. Making arbitrary (from the child's PoV) rules about what they can or can't do will either make them resent you and become rebellious, or alternatively make them depend on authority and be unable to think for themselves.

There is no inferior and superior in natural selection, ad it is not a consciously directed process that can assign value to certain properties over others to make a nice poset for comparisons. Things are what they are.
