Two parties

Name: Anonymous 2015-01-25 17:40

Why do Americans believe that there can only be two political parties? I know Americans are not bright but most of them can still count to 10. So why do only two? Is it media brainwashing?

Those parties are the same anyway. Both are liberal and capitalistic. Both support torture (Guantanamo), starting wars, total espionage (NSA), mind control (CIA), etc etc. There is no difference whatsoever except perhaps a couple of decimal digits in some number in a health reform.

So why do Americans believe that they have a democracy when what they have is the choice between two names for one and the same thing?

Gotta be on the winning team. Soon there will be one party so everyone wins every election. Now that's what I'm talkin about!

There are more than two parties, but everybody knows there's no point in voting for them because they will never win.

If you can't beat 'em, protest by self-immolation.

Support the green party.

But why will they never win? Because Americans are unable to have an opinion that differs from what the "free" (actually owned by megacorporate Jews) media tells them to? Surely in a country with at least a moderate level of freedom there would be people of all political stripes, and there would be 3, 4, 5 major parties - like it's happening all over the democratic world except US and Russia.
But no, the American citizens keep voting for the same thing over and over and still believe they have democracy and choice. I cannot understand how and entire nation can be so dumb.

See, if there was only one super-party, then even Americans would figure out (sooner or later) that they have no choice. But give them two parties - no matter how mirror-alike - and they actually believe they are "choosing" and "deciding" something.

Also, all these Republicans and Democrats help the matter by feigning heated debates and pretending they disagree about things and their policies are any different. In reality, of course, they're all easily bought by anyone with money:

From 1987 to 1988, Morello worked in the office of California Democratic Senator Alan Cranston;[7] however, this proved to be a negative experience for Morello, who decided never to pursue a career in politics.

"I never had any real desire to work in politics but if there was any ember burning in me, it was extinguished working in that job because of two things: one of them was the fact that 80 per cent of the time I spent with the Senator, he was on the phone asking rich people for money. It just made me understand that the whole business was dirty. He had to compromise his entire being every day.

Rooting for one of two sides is part of American culture. Elections have been this way since Thomas Jefferson. The Congressmen and Senators tend to have much more unique views, from extreme socialist to fascist. Generally people say the USA is a democracy because it is in practice. Nothing major happens without majority support. The majority supported both wars, otherwise it would have never happened. The same goes for Nazi Germany, btw.

Yeah the thing is nobody actually likes the current system and many people don't even vote. Many people are not fooled by this. There's just nothing we can do. There's an entire industry involved in sustaining the two party system, running ridiculous smear campaign ads, and raising money for people to merely consider running for president (check out our Super-PACs.)

Voting for the libertarian party, the green party, or any independent candidate is just a waste of a vote. They will never be elected. Most people who vote are voting based on which candidate of the two parties is less of a piece of shit.

Because what? Says who? You're basically acknowledging that the American "democracy" is controlled by the big money corps. "Any color so long that it's black" - as one American so eloquently put it. You have freedom to vote for any party so long as it's Democrublican.

What a fucking joke. And to think that you cover your imperialistic wars as "spreading democracy". You don't even have any to spread.
