If I understand correctly, this does not constitute a violation of the laws of thermodynamics. It could gather the extra energy from the environment, but getting all that energy literally out of thin air sounds like bullshit to me.

In other words, it does not work.

Making a fusion reaction is a pretty standard occurrence. We have been able to do that since the 1930s, and commonly in the lab since the 1950s. What has NOT worked is the ability to contain the reaction and then sustain it so that it produces commercial power. Lockheed still has not done that.
