It has been a reality for the middle class at least 50 years ago. Watch some fucking movies from mid-XXth century, you'll see families where only the father goes off to work. That's how you have a healthy, happy society. The socialists have strangled the economy with their taxes because they want to destroy the family and make everyone dependent on their Nanny State. That causes a collapse in birthrates and further decay of the economy which will lead to social collapse because there's too many old people and the young are fucked over from the start.
