I work nights and just got off, met up with my dad and went to Dennys across from my work for some breakfast. Place is packed most mornings, ton of people in the booths, we sat at the counter, at the corner so we weren't side-by-side. I have a full beard and mustache - I normally don't but I tore my rotator cuff last month and I don't want to fuck up my face shaving southpaw.

This girl sitting behind us in a booth has been yelling and being generally disruptive the entire time we've been there. She is with a group of other girls, but she is obviously the alpha. She had one of those "I want to talk to the manager" haircuts.

As we're eating, I hear a horn honk across the street, at my work. I had just got off work and I just locked up, so it drew my attention pretty quickly. Doesn't look to be any major issue so I start to turn back around. Accidentally made eye-contact with the alpha-bitch. "Shit..."

She kinda cringes her upper lip in disgust. I admit, I don't look my best right now - I'm tired, unshaven, and not much to look at on my best days, but that didn't warrant any kind of visceral reaction... I just wave it off and turn back forward. My dad looks at me, he saw what just happened too, but I just wave him down and we go back to our coffee and pancakes.

The wall behind the counter is mirrored completely, so I can see this chick staring daggers into the back of my head. It's bothering me to no end, but I decide it's best to avoid a situation at 3AM... Suddenly behind us we hear, "His beard is gross... he should shave that shit.... Beards are just gross..." Without skipping a beat, my dad looks at the alpha bitch and says "Honey, don't talk to me or my wife's son ever again." tips his mug to her and takes a sip.

Waitress walking has to cover her mouth to contain her laughter, it doesn't work. Alpha bitch stands up and storms out of the restaurant, he friends pick up the check and leave. We left soon thereafter, waitress insisted on giving me and my dad each a milkshake before we left.

I don't have much in this world, but I'll always be happy I have a kickass dad.

It's okay, Ni-san. I also wish that I had a dad that would stick up for me or cared for me at all instead of thinking that I wasn't worth his time before I was even born.
