HAS SCIENCE GONE FAR ENOUGH?

Name: Anonymous 2015-06-19 10:46

Is there any need for science in the modern age? Overpopulation and robots seem to have made it redundant for practical purposes.

I bring this up here, an anonymous board, because on the wider internet and community, my views are often dismissed as "retarded" or "luddite".

However, the question remains: is science the best way forward for humanity? Is it inclusive of peoples' lived experience, or is it fast becoming its own little world of irrelevance?

There are many highly frightening things about science: GMO, Killer-Androids, "grey goo," designer-babies, and so on. Yet rarely is the question asked: should science be rejected?

Thoughts?

learn about our origins and fate?
I already know everything I need to know about both of those things.
