Last night's semi-lucid dream

Name: Anonymous 2018-11-12 0:20

I had a very vivid dream last night, probably due to the sleeping pills I take (it's a known side effect). I was flying through a city, but it wasn't a normal city. It looked vaguely scifi-ish, but also very weird. The buildings were white stone with purple accents. Not like modern metal-and-glass buildings. The buildings were very tall, but didn't have traditional floors per se.

I though ``I'm flying, I must be dreaming'' and I tried to enjoy it, because flying in a dream gives you an amazing sense of freedom. However, flying in my dream involved moving your arms kind of like swimming, and it wasn't really easy to fly. It was nice, but I didn't want to keep this up forever, because it was so much effort (at this point I was less lucid than before and kind of forgot that it wasn't real). I eventually decided to land on a building. On the top, there was an opening to a big open stairway in the interior of the building, but it was in the middle and detached from the walls on all sides. That way, you could get a nice view down from even the inside. It was a bit weird.

Then I realized some very strange things about the building. It was a building for couples, or something like that. I was out of place, being alone. It was a public building so I wasn't trespassing or anything. It seemed kind of like a mall without the shops. Just a lot of floors and stairs and people walking by.

At one point, I wanted to play soccer at some indoor soccer stadium, but the floor was a tarp-like thing and it fell off to reveal that there was no floor at all there, so I couldn't play.

Also, even though the building seemed like a small building (kind of like the Seattle Space needle, but white and purple) on the outside, it seemed really massive on the inside, and there were smaller buildings on the inside. I think people lived inside, but instead of being an orderly apartment block, it was a bunch of houses kind of build on top of each other, forming this natural-looking formation, and you'd have to hike to get to where you lived. It was basically a big hollow structure where none of the stairwells or floors or apartments took up the entire space, and so you could view down and see from a high height because of the lack of wall-to-wall flooring.

I could come up with an entire artistic direction for like a video game world or something based on these vivid dreams I have. It does all the thinking and creative invention for me.

Ever had any worldbuilding-like dreams before?

Thats fairly normal. There is also "Superman method" where you stretch your arms towards a target and jump forward, which takes much less effort but control is weaker.

The chaotic patchworks of houses are mid-astral cities. Were the buildings more like this(sharp spires):

or more like this(square and tall)?:
