I have a metaphysical question

If something is eternal, does that also mean it is very old?

Transcending the boundaries of time...

WHAT IS IT, WHERE IS IT, HOW WILL IT AFFECT ME?
FUCK THAT SHIT, I NEED THAT SHIT'S BOUND TO BE THE DEATH OF ME

From the point of view of time-space eternal would mean it predates the Big Bang, so at least 13billion years old for it to be technically eternal.
But in practical usage people use it for things that are fairly recent like "Eternal Flame" which is suppose to be lit for eternity, but has finite age.

If it is technically eternal then it is at least 13 billion years old, alright. Of course, I would suppose, 13 billion years is a long time? So you would agree with the preposition, that something eternal is also very old.

To more practical terms, any substance is very old. Then, at the beginning of our universe, when it was still very young, how old were our substances? Were they still very old or were they very young at the time? Yes, that depends on how long they predate our "Big Bang". If they were very young 'at the time', does that mean they were not eternal 'at the time'? And does that even make sense, that they become eternal at a certain point after having "lived" enough time? Does it make sense to say that something eternal is born and lives, or comes to being and persists?

Only two things are eternal: physics and mathematics.

Both physics and mathematics are metaphysical subjects.
