Earth is Doomed, Unless Priveleged First-Worlders Embrace Veganism

So does the world going to change?
The idea that livestock makes climate change and deforestation worse isn't novel - the point article making is billions of people switching to Western diet and population growth within limited resources.

I don't think there is a chance, vegan substitutes to non-vegan food exists but they're either expensive or taste bad.
For example cheese, i don't think any of you realize how pervasive, cheap and nutritious it is. I'm not against veganism in principle, but i'm sure most of non-vegans care about nutrition and taste more than "saving the world"(they would eat food without caring if its vegan or not, just looking at its taste and price). Vegans have no clear alternative to cheese that is as cheap or nutritious/tasty as cheese itself.

Consumerist, hedonistic, degenerate, subhuman, base, of NPC nature, demiurgic.
It's pathetic and revolting that the world needs to be saved not from ill will and conflict of interests between equal parties, but from moronic animals that put their unhealthy hedonism before everything else.

Fermented tofu kinda tastes like strong blue cheese.

Cheese is only cheap because of massive government subsidies (welfare to farmers). The prices of food in America are artificially low because the government knows that hungry people are rebellious people.

Dairy is nutritious to newborn calves. They have too much nutrition (fat, cholesterol, sodium) for the average Amerifat adult. There isn't a single Amerifat who wouldn't be better off eating no more cheese.

B-b-but muh tastebud mouth pleasure tho!

who cares, i'll be long dead before it affects me

Fear, uncertainty, doubt. If we all (humanity as a whole) die off from asfixiation or whatever would it really be that bad? They are certainly deflecting the issue that humanity has ceased to be something worth preserving.

humanity has ceased to be something worth preserving.
That is the psychological state of mouse utopia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_B._Calhoun#Mouse_experiments
This period between day 315 and day 600 saw a breakdown in social structure and in normal social behavior. Among the aberrations in behavior were the following: expulsion of young before weaning was complete, wounding of young, inability of dominant males to maintain the defense of their territory and females, aggressive behavior of females, passivity of non-dominant males with increased attacks on each other which were not defended against.[2]

After day 600, the social breakdown continued and the population declined toward extinction. During this period females ceased to reproduce. Their male counterparts withdrew completely, never engaging in courtship or fighting and only engaging in tasks that were essential to their health. They ate, drank, slept, and groomed themselves – all solitary pursuits. Sleek, healthy coats and an absence of scars characterized these males. They were dubbed "the beautiful ones." Breeding never resumed and behavior patterns were permanently changed.

The conclusions drawn from this experiment were that when all available space is taken and all social roles filled, competition and the stresses experienced by the individuals will result in a total breakdown in complex social behaviors, ultimately resulting in the demise of the population.

This thread ceased to be worth preserving. We've got mouse utopia pseudoscience brainlets in here.

Clean your fur

Bad food lowers IQ. Carnivorous animals are order of magnitude smarter than their prey.

If I clean it anymore, I'll bleed to death.

And vegans are order of magnitude smarter than anything that consumes meat.

A carnivore is smart because of its genes, not the food it eats during its lifetime.

Carnivores are smarter because evolution forced their genes toward higher intelligence. Giving steak to a herbivorous rabbit isn’t going to make it smarter.

This isn’t a diffucult concept. Maybe you got brain fog from meat consumption-induced vascular disorders.

Don't forget tapeworms migrating through brain, toxoplasmosis causing schizophrenic delusions, and tumors impairing function of many organs (including brain) directly and indirectly.
All of those problems are either directly caused (parasites) or significantly correlated (neoplasms) with consumption of meat.

Individual actions aren't going to save the world, what we need is to radically change the mode of production which is what causes over 70% of emissions in first place.

Factories and transportation make the most CO2 emissions, but that's only one of the types of greenhouse gases. Livestock farming produces an order of magnitude more greenhouse gases. In fact even if everyone stopped driving cars but still ate meat, the rate of global warming would barely change.

I started drinking almond milk instead due to lactose intolerance. It is 1: more tasty 2: lasts longer and 3: more friendly to the environment.

more friendly to the environment
You sure about that?

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-13 5:42

Yeah, I'm also referring to farming when talking about production.

Veganism was studied for carrying capacity for the planet and it lost.

Incredibly biased article that makes a ton of unwarranted assumptions like
low fertility soil can't ever be used to produce food, only grasses
animals don't need any supplementation, just grass
plant matter that isn't eaten disappears into void

Even with those assumption, it still gets only a tiny bit extra points in favor of ghoulish corpse vore.
