We know that adaption occurs within a species and over time this adaption, if successful, will become dominant within that species, but there is zero evidence that this type of adaption 1) can give raise to a new species and 2) that this happened with humans. It might seem logical, based on what we currently know, to Assume this kind of evolution is possible and did happen to us, but without evidence it cannot be considered part of evolutionary theory due to its hypothetical nature.
