If you're mixed race but ``white passing'', SJWs will try to deny you your ethnic heritage. I've had SJWs tell me I shouldn't claim my Mexican ancestry because I look white (although white people sometimes ask me questions like ``what race are you?''). I really don't get this attitude. It's so ridiculous that I don't even mention being part Mexican anymore because college liberals will probably accuse me of racism or something.
The funny thing is... this is an extremely racist thing for SJWs to do. Are they saying all Mexicans look the same? I can't be white and Mexican unless I look like a living stereotype?

I am relatively white-looking, but I have some brown family members, so I wouldn't say that's the same as some guy who looks super pale and has red hair.

I also wouldn't call myself self-hating. I never used to have a problem with telling people about my Mexican heritage on one side of my family, until SJWism became a thing, and people started to have a problem with a somewhat light-skinned person talking about having Mexican family members. I didn't like the idea of having to ``prove'' my own identity, so I just gave up and stopped mentioning it.
Then again, aren't most Americans disconnected from their roots anyway? Do Polish Americans participate in Polish culture? Or are they closer to American culture: football, McDonalds, Walmart, and other mass-produced garbage that is distinctly American (and eating away at their real culture)?
I think a key component of globalism is separating people from their tribe/ancestors so they feel attached to nothing. Being isolated/individual (special snowflake) means people are less involved in groups or their communities, making it easier for corporations or governments to exert their power over people. People call America multicultural, but I'd say modern lifestyles are anti-cultural, aside from a few exceptions here and there.
But what about the rest of you? What are your roots? And do you feel connected to your history? If you're a Something American (Italian American, African American, Chinese American, Jewish American, Irish American, Vietnamese American, etc) are you in touch with your roots?
