Global climate change is real, pollution is bad -- how the fuck can rePLEBlicans not get this? Big oil sucks. Let's try not to fucking destroy our planet and, you know, convert to alternative sources of energy. Job creation along the way, too! This is a real way we can help people in poverty. Create more jobs and job training programs. No handouts, but no ``poor people can just choose not to be poor'' attitude either.
Pointless wars are a waste of time and money, and also bad for international relations. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't spend money on military. If we stopped spending on military, we'd be fucking destroyed by China or Russia. In any major world war, only the US, Russia, and China have any chance of winning. Everyone else would get fucked. That's why so many weak countries are in defense agreements with these countries. I guess, to a lesser extent, you've got the UK, Israel, France, Pakistan, India, and Japan (maybe -- they are rebuilding their military, now that the old WWII shit is ending). People freak out over North Korea but they only have a few nukes, and they're not long-range enough to hit much. So pointless wars are bad, but the liberal pipe dream of disarming doesn't make sense either. The first person to disarm loses. It's really that simple.
Trump is not going to build a wall, and even if he did, California would let immigrants in anyway. So we need to do a lot of reform. People like the wall because it's an easy way to express a complex issue. But it's not a complete solution to this multi-faceted issue.
Many republicans are less about nationalism and more about supporting big corporations, who often bribe them or ``donate'' to their ``non-profit'' or ``campaign'' or whatever. It's basically bribery though. I would call these losers corporatists, who mislead people into thinking they're the same brand of conservatism that many people are into. Just like how the left has out of touch rich people like Bernie Sanders, the right as out of touch rich people too.
Many republicans claim to be in favor of conservative values but at the same time are in favor of increasing government overreach.
Taxes are okay the way they are, and perhaps instead of even more tax breaks, we should use that same amount of money into improving public infrastructure. Roads are shit. Pipes are shit. Public education is shit. This country is falling apart in many regions. Tax increases are bad, but libertarians who think 0% taxes are good are fucking morons.
