Why isn't /prog/ getting cleaned up?

Name: Anonymous 2017-12-05 9:39

I accidentally was on /prog/ but, due to the subject matter of the threads, was convinced I was on /lounge/. What tipped me off was that people were editing their posts to correct minor grammar errors wtf. Less than 10% of available threads were related to programming, however. Why isn't /prog/ getting cleaned up?

It's simple, really. world4ch /prog/ had no moderation (except for the occasional bans after people go on irc). Then you have progrider which also had minimal moderation, where that admin only banned the spambots. So by that you can guess the current admin also does the same.
Yesterday there was some guy who posted at least a couple dozen times ``What programming language is this?'' and ``/polecat kegoatfingerabs/'', but all those posts were gone an hour or so later, so I guess there is some moderation at least.

You have two problems with asking for more moderation:
1. A lot of people will complain (not just spammers.)
More importantly; 2. Asking for more moderation is never good, and will get all sort of threads gone. After all, who will define what is shitposting and what is not?

Honestly I don't like it either, but what good is complaining about it when you're not contributing to that board? If there aren't any programming threads, then make some--It's a lot more productive. Progrider and world4ch's threads are both still here, so look at the threadlists and you'll see both sites had the same problem with thread content as here (world4ch a lot moreso.)
