BZZZT. Wrong. It was too canceled, as evidenced by the fact season 5 was cut short by a good 8-10 episodes compared to previous seasons. But why was it canceled. Well, the answer is that CBS doesn't own the show-rights therefore they were not making a lot of profit from it. Ergo: it was canceled.

I just wish they'd spend more of the show pointlessly protecting random people who don't matter rather than this overarching storyline about competing supermachines they keep shoving in there.

Sounds like an excuse to have a shitty plot and lots of boring "arty" sequences to take up time. The sad thing is that the basic concept sans the whole mental illness angle wasn't terrible, it could have been halfway to decent if the writers weren't such lazy pussies.
