speech is free (or relaxed)
Were you in hibernation during the whole Gamergate fiasco? I personally didn't have a dog in that fight, but I could see that moot, team 4chan, et al. were using some really underhanded methods to silence people. Perhaps that's why he ended up eventually resigning; maybe it's better under Nishimura now, but I haven't been there since moot left.

Gamergate
It was a giant circlejerk and spam that tried to silence any opposition to the common beliefs. Moreover, it generated tons of low quality memes, posts and attracted lots of bad posters.

How exactly did they "silence" anyone if none of them were site moderators without the power to delete posts/ban? It appeared to me that the site administration were deleting and banning legitimate criticism of views that they were trying to force by abusing their moderation powers. It only appeared to be "spam" after a while, since often if something is continually and unusually banned without reasonable justification (and precedent) it's going to draw in a lot more attention than if you had left it alone.
Moreover, it generated tons of low quality memes, posts and attracted lots of bad posters.
You could say that for the site as a whole long before Gamergate. Regardless of anyone's views towards it all, it ended up being the catalyst bringing about the largest migration of users out of 4chan since 2006 and created a rift that affected things outside of it (general resentment on the site was bubbling for a while even before).

They tried to get news site they didn't like shut down, just like the people they hated. More recently, they tried to get that Nintendo girl fired because she didn't hate lolicon. More over, the entire thing was a bunch of "I'm not racist, but...", where they basically adopted all the leftist thoughts and tactics and shit, but tried to maintain a narrative instead of just calling a nigger a nigger an attention whoring tranny an attention whoring tranny. If they had actually had the balls to call them on their bullshit, they may have gotten somewhere. Instead, they played on their field and lost.

The rest of your post is melodramatic nonsense. Stop acting like this was some huge movement. They and the leftists shat on each other over twitter for a while. If that was really a highlight of their lives, then the need to kill themselves and try again next time. People migrating to and from 4chan is pretty irrelevant. The gamergaters were constantly spamming and trying to get everyone involved and are generally pretty annoying. A slower site is a higher quality site.

That said, I can't think of may things that it would be more insipid to start a movement over than video game journalism. Holy shit, is that really part of your identity, you hopeless fucking losers? If they really wanted to change shit, they should stop playing video games. They didn't get any respect from any anyone because of that. They could have made the movement about opposing leftism in the media, gotten millions in support by pissed off conservatives and rode the Trump train to victory over the past year, but instead they chose the most embarrassing topic you could, gave it a dramatic and hyper autistic name, and let retards set the standards of operations.

It was no surprise that they got banned from everywhere they were an embarrassment and the whole thing reeks of the post-Chanology Legun, that posts dumb invasion image macros on facebook to organize. I would ban them too if they tried roping me into that shit.

Actually, you could argue that indirectly they have. They have (but not strictly) overlaped with anti-feminists, those who oppose Islamization, those who oppose mass immigration and open borders and those who make up the alt-right, all big supporters of Trump.

I wonder if National Socialist Germany ever did research into global warming/climate change? They did invest into scientific research into the link between tobacco smoke and cancer and into the V-2 rocket program, so I imagine that it could be like everything else, a legitimate phenomenon and problem that the Jews are using to their advantage to make some shekels instead of actually tackling it out of genuine principle.

You're referring to Alison Rapp, who in her academic thesis argued that actual child pornography (that's 3D child porn to you weebs) should be legal to possess. Lolicon is legal in the USA, actual child porn isn't. At least she didn't argue that production should be legal. https://issuu.com/honorsreview/docs/volumeiv/33

Gamergate isn't even the best example of 4chan not being free speech. The right to free speech ultimately exists to allow the government to be criticized, and the 4chan 'government' does not tolerate any criticism of them. Post ">he does it for free"? To the gulag with you! And it's actually right there in the site rules that any criticism of how the site is run is grounds for a ban.

The Gamergate ban was at least defensible in that it tended to become off-topic for the boards it was on, censoring any criticism of the site's administration is another matter entirely.

I don't think you actually know what you're talking about. Sounds like you're just using it as an excuse to whine about leftists. GG wasn't a predominantly leftist movement.

That shouldn't be illegal either. No, I'm not a pedophile, it just isn't that big of a deal.
