I don't care about holidays. They're just days off in my eyes.

christmas is a white holiday. The only people who should not be participating are non-whites.

You don't care about days off? Could you be any more of a good goy?

I meant that the only part I care about them is the day off. Because I don't want to go through my 2 hour commute to show up at a closed office.

Skipping out on your commute isn't advisable, day off or not / closed office or open. I suggest doing your commute daily, no matter the circumstances, to avoid getting rusty and forgetting the fastest route. I'm a professional success coach, so you might want to take my advice.

The time it takes is all dependent on whether the public transport will work that day. Sometimes the train decides to stop for half an hour with no explanation as to why. Sometimes the bus will never show up even when it's supposed to. When the bus drivers are members of a particular demographic, they have a tendency to skip the stop and keep driving. Even if they make eye contact and there other members of that demographic at the stop. When you sprint up to them, they act offended and say "I diddin see you". I do wish my commute was more effort based. But there's nothing I can do to make it go faster. I can only sit and wait. I live with my parents in the middle of nowhere. I hope to move to a better place soon. But it's nice to have free rent. I consider the commute to be part of my job because of how much it saves me.

I work from home these days, but I used to commute over an hour to work on public transport. I actually really enjoyed it in a way, despite all the frustration and annoyance. There was something nice about being a part of this mass of people and sharing in an experience every day without having to directly interact or participate. Being immersed in a crowd moving through the station and sitting in trains and buses and people watching through the window is quite comforting. As is sharing in the collective sense of resignation and annoyance when the train broke down or was an hour late. At least in retrospect.
