I've come to realize that I come to /prog/ not because I like the board itself, but because I like the people. After the death of old /prog/, the primary concern was not so much to maintain the culture of old /prog/, but to maintain contact with the old progers. This new board has been useful in maintaining contact with the other posters and continuing to /prog/ around, but this form of contact is vulnerable if the board shuts down, the board is down, or if admin-sama bans posters. It would be prudent to post alternative forms of contact so we can stay in touch in case there's another shoah.
I'm planning to write a for a C-like DSL too, to embed into Symta, because carrying huge GCC around would be a chore and emulation is too slow. The hardest part would be generating DLLs for various archs. I believe binutils can do that, so I'll likely auto-translate them into Symta.
