Worth remembering that some people's, er, "productivity level", is not constant. I'd estimate that when I'm having fun and pouring code out my ears, I'm about 10 times as productive as when I'm bored and discontent. Sometimes I'll spend ages talking about something and making the occasional false start, and other times I'll just hack it up in a weekend. I think that a lot of other people are the same.
