https://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?/topic/23105-sad-news-we-lost-another-one-of-our-own-mircea-kitsune/ This is likely in part due to the bannings by Darkplaces and Xonotic concurrently some years ago. That hit Mircea very hard: having put much of their life into _programming_ for BOTH of those projects, as well as alot of 3d work etc. For free. I, to this day, use Mircea's work: the extra hit effects client side. More recently was ported over the digital-read-out-on-weapons-models (like UT 1999) code that Mircea created for their fun vore-tournament mod.
Mircea was visciouly rejected by the (so-called) Darkplaces and Xonotic communities after working for _YEARS_ for them: they decided they did not like something Mircea tweeted years before. Those people are the true enemy. To this day they make fun of Mircea and say "it was no loss" and they're glad Mircea is not working for them any longer. >was banned by unanimous vote from both the darkplaces and xonotic communities >behavior post-ban affirms our decision. i'm not a fan of cancel culture myself, but we just... don't associate with those kind of people, for reasons i sincerely hope you can appreciate...
They laugh and mock Mircea to this very day. A person who did so much ACTUAL WORK for these people.
>go ahead and google mircea kitsune and
there is a lot of negativity that comes up. theres your reasons for bans
I have been looking for two days and can’t seem to find a laser printer that can print up to 13x19. I may settle for a 11x17 max, though, but can’t seem to find that either lol
I got a Canon Prixma-100 for free that can do up to 13x17, so was really hoping to find a laser so I can do some gold foiling for book covers.
11x17 yes. 13x19 kicks you into the pro class printers, and the prices match that. Inkjet is a whole 'nuther class of printers. I went through a couple of large format inkjets before going all laser. The problem I have with inkjets is they self destruct. However, wide format is common in inkjets.
There are a lot of 11x17 printers. They tend to be business class printers. probably because not many home users use that size. You could buy a used office printer.
I got a Xerox versalink printer, commonly sold for $2500. I got the lower feeder unit from a junked unit for free. The advantage of this printer is it is LED and will print thick stock (up to 320gm) for covers. It states 12x18 size output, meaning just short of the 13x19 standard size. I do have a use for 11x19 sheets, and I use the manual feeder since the trays won't take that size.
While, Do While, For loops in Assembly Language (emu8086) Asked 11 years, 7 months ago Modified 4 years, 8 months ago Viewed 256k times 39
I want to convert simple loops in high-level languages into assembly language (for emu8086) say, I have this code:
for(int x = 0; x<=3; x++) { //Do something! }
or
int x=1; do{ //Do something! } while(x==1)
or
while(x==1){ //Do something }
How do I do this in emu8086?

Assuming you know how to implement comparisons and conditional jumps in assembly already, rewrite the code using if and goto first and/or create a flowchart. – Jester Commented Feb 23, 2015 at 1:14 Nope! Only for emu8086! – Glynn Bacanto Commented Feb 23, 2015 at 1:19
stackoverflow.com/questions/8301137/… – Stuart Siegler Commented Feb 23, 2015 at 1:27 1 Just lose the e from the register name. e stands for extended (I believe) - it indicates 32 bit-wide registers instead of 16 bits. – 500 - Internal Server Error Commented Feb 23, 2015 at 2:44 1 Yes, apart from whatever else you need in the body. For example a do-while is a single conditional jump start: { body }; if (condition) goto start; – Jester Commented Jul 10, 2021 at 11:48

For-loop in C:
for(int x = 0; x<=3; x++) { //Do something! }
The same loop in 8086 assembler:
xor cx,cx ; cx-register is the counter, set to 0 loop1 nop ; Whatever you wanna do goes here, should not change cx inc cx ; Increment cmp cx,3 ; Compare cx to the limit jle loop1 ; Loop while less or equal
That is the loop if you need to access your index (cx). If you just wanna to something 0-3=4 times but you do not need the index, this would be easier:
mov cx,4 ; 4 iterations loop1 nop ; Whatever you wanna do goes here, should not change cx loop loop1 ; loop instruction decrements cx and jumps to label if not 0
If you just want to perform a very simple instruction a constant amount of times, you could also use an assembler-directive which will just hardcore that instruction
times 4 nop
Do-while-loops
Do-while-loop in C:
int x=1; do{ //Do something! } while(x==1)
The same loop in assembler:
mov ax,1 loop1 nop ; Whatever you wanna do goes here cmp ax,1 ; Check wether cx is 1 je loop1 ; And loop if equal
While-loops
While-loop in C:
while(x==1){ //Do something }
The same loop in assembler:
jmp loop1 ; Jump to condition first cloop1 nop ; Execute the content of the loop loop1 cmp ax,1 ; Check the condition je cloop1 ; Jump to content of the loop if met
For the for-loops you should take the cx-register because it is pretty much standard. For the other loop conditions you can take a register of your liking. Of course replace the no-operation instruction with all the instructions you wanna perform in the loop. Peter Cordes Jan 14, 2018 at 4:41 And in asm, use the do{}while() loop structure whenever possible, for the same reason compilers do: code runs faster with fewer instructions inside the loop. (Usually peeling the run-zero-times check is better than jumping to the bottom of the loop like you're doing here in your while loop.) ecm Aug 28, 2019 at 19:33 The for loop code here is wrong. It should jump to the loop condition check before the loop's first iteration. Peter Cordes Apr 9, 2021 at 1:23 @ecm: It's not strictly wrong, it's applying the optimization that x<=3 is known to be true on the first iteration, allowing that check to be skipped. That's 100% standard and idiomatic for counted loops in assembly when you know they will run at least once, because of fixed loop bounds. Other kinds of for loops may need to sometimes run 0 times, but this answer is talking about for loops that follow the idiomatic pattern for looping x from 0 .. n. Add a comment -5
I remeber when Mircea Kitsune was banned. I saved the Xonotic vote page to the internet archive, but can't remeber the URL: What I do remeber is this:
1) First Havok (AKA: Forest Hale, IIRC) from Darkplaces banned Mircea because of some twitter opinion Mircea wrote three years prior. This is after Mircea work on code for Darkplaces for many years (for free). Havok then made an explicit rule in the opensource project banning everyone who expressed such views anywhere on the internet: they were banned from development and not wanted. It had to do with who one likes. Mircea was not allowed to like why they liked. Verboten in America. Mircea had programmed C for a Decade + for darkplaces.
2) Then Mircea fell back on Xonotic: and wrote about this on the blog. The feeling was "atleast I have this community that will not betray my kindness". He had programmed QuakeC for Xonotic/etc/whateveritusedtocallitself for a Decade; including great additions such as the code that makes better damage effects clientside. He also made 3d models to be used with Xonotic/etc and textures and everything else.
Within a week, the head of that project: Divverent (AKA: Rudolf Polzer, IIRC) voted to ban Mircea because of his twitter opinion expressed 3 years prior: about who was liked/loved by Mircea. Verboten in America (and Germany (but less so)). The rest of the "heads" of that project also gleefully voted to ban and they happily stand by this decision to this day on their discord.
3) That crushed Mircea (according to the blog written) and this is the eventual result.
In the past developers were never banned from opensource projects.
I think that banning people who have contributed to an opensource project; directly their time, effort, and code; whereby the original understanding was "show us your code" "only code matters" etc; is a violation of a implicit agreement. I also think that banning them based off of speech they made; is an attempt to quell their speech; and a violation of their Federal Civil Rights. But that's just a theory.
I also think the parents of Mircea Kitsune, in Romania, should be informed about the people who banned their child.
This is likely in part due to the bannings by Darkplaces and Xonotic concurrently some years ago. That hit Mircea very hard: having put much of their life into _programming_ for BOTH of those projects, as well as alot of 3d work etc. For free. spring — 10/17/26, 10:48 PM alright thanks fanofsonic2 — 3:39 AM Why shouldn't he dare? You all dis-assembled and stole every damn thing from the SonicTeam But when someone else takes your code or disassembles it :OMG!
It's laughable you talk about code stealing. fanofsonic2 — 3:40 AM I hope Mildanner AI-Disassembles Sonic-delta-40mb; using the community decompiles to help put the labels back in (as the code will be similar): It is moronic that you think you can steal ALL of Son1,2,3&K (not that there is anything wrong with that) BUT: then complain of "code stealing" of other hacks YOU STOLE THE WHOLE GAME Code , Data, Art, Sound, Music, EVERYTHING fanofsonic2 — 3:44 AM We'll get it decompiled. For the memory mapper (that works) and the Art Assets all in one S3&K package alone. Ofcourse I assume you use the Z80 asm too so it will have to be a split dis-assembly. Sonic-Delta-40mb could be used as a base , since it has all the assets, (which SONICTEAM MADE from 1990-1994) (NOT YOU), for all sonic fan games. But as you said: you don't share your source code Just steal if from Sega, Naoto Oshima, Yamaguchi, on and on. It's "ok" for you to steal. But you don't pay it forward? As an opensource programmer myself this seems eh not good. Sonic fangamming on the genesis could be much,.,, quicker in development if you ALL worked TOGETHER and yes I'm an opensource dev: C code, QC, 3d, and all that. Yes I know you'll make fun of me. Image Image Image Image Image Image fanofsonic2 — 3:47 AM Why? He didn't respect SEGA's copyright. That art packed in there isn't his. That ASM code of the S3&K engine isn't his. He did a ton of his own after: yes. But it's a hell of a difference modifying and extending a Project, than building one from scratch (yea I know I'll be banned for complaining or saying things the mod guy here doesn't like) fanofsonic2 — 3:48 AM I'll make sure they dare. You telling us all we "better not dare" dis-assemble something you guys disassembled from SEGA? WTF? What you gunna do? Kill us in south san palo? fanofsonic2 — 3:49 AM You mean when he disassembled (decompiled if you want to be loose in terminology) it for himself? Or what about using other peoples opensource tools to get things done vasm, and many others? But if someone else is like "you know, having all the art assets in a sonic rom, and going from there: that's a good thing" NOOO DONT DECOMPILE!!!! What the hell? THis doesn't make sence. It's OK for you to decompile? But not for others? fanofsonic2 — 3:52 AM I hope you do decompile it. Use AI Dis-assembly, feed it the known Son1,2,3&k and the Son3&k improved disassemblies so proper labels can be added by the AI. But remeber: There is also Z80 ASM in there too, not just Motorola 68000. Look, we've all been with sonic since he came out and we were like 5. We've all been in the sonic community this long. But sonic re-leveling /level making has dropped down. When it could be something everyone could do if they just had a complete art and chunkset easily useable like 40mb has. That memorymapping Esrael has done is great. Lets you use it all. But not releasing the source code anymore? I don't get it. If you're going to be a communist: go all the way. So others can help. [art], fanofsonic2 — 3:55 AM AI Idea: After you dare to decompile (disassemble) with the AI to relabel everything in accordance with the newer S3&K disassemblies: see if you can do the same with the sonic random level rom : s1r1 v0.11: then maybe the two ideas could be put together some day: A S1/2/3&K that has infinite random levels of all types.

fanofsonic2 — 3:36 AM hi On the everdrive v3 there is a crash at the end of Sonic2-emerald hill zone after the freeing of the little animals as you go to the next stage both 2024 and the 2026 version from a week ago (same crash) your progress is saved so you can reboot and continue, but there it is
fanofsonic2 — 4:04 AM @Esrael Neto @CaioST (Lucaio Super) I don't get something, CaioSt. you think you can take all of Sonic 1, 2, 3 & K, edit it, consolidate it. And you feel it's yours. But if someone uses code you wrote. You mad they stealing. When you stole the whole fkin thing? Make that make sence.
If you gon be a thief. And I ain't knocking it, mind you; Why don't you let other thiefs build on your work: Because all that art; all that ASM code mk68 st: it all done not by you. You understand me? You did what you do: but the base is stolen. So why you get mad when people say "source code plz"???
