Sonic the Hedgehog 1&2 Soundtrack. "Sweet Sweet Sweet" is a song by Japanese band Dreams Come True for their studio album The Swinging Star. The song's melodies are played during the ending theme of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. In 1994, an English version was released titled "Sweet Dream" as a B-side on the single "Winter Song".

It so happened that the band Dreams Come True was recording a new album, and there was a song that was attracting a lot of attention from the Japanese, the song Sweet Dream, but due to some limitations of the Mega Drive, they couldn't include the vocals, so they compressed and made the song play without the vocals and all the instrumental details.
Tails was originally planned to be female. Evidence comes from original design documents for Sonic 2, plus the addition of the song Sweet Dream, from the Japanese group “Dreams Come True”, which one of the members wrote the music for Sonic 1 and 2.

Hi, what are your favorite Sonic-Genesis community made games?
I'll start with mine:
D.A. Garden edition Sonic3&K: all new level designs, basically a new S3&K
S1: Return to : again all new level designs: and alternative Sonic1
S2: Return to: all the levels have been remade: so it's another new game with new levels.
Sonic1 Mega Mix: Man is this HARD. Awsome. Totally new levels.
S1SR: Sonic 1 Random greenhill zone v1.1: This one is awsome: a guy did some assembly programming and made 1.7km 3km ... up to infinite km random green hill zone.
Sadly he then quit for 9 years: and I asked him on youtube what's up and he said life was busy. I then suggested posting the assembly "source code" to the sonic research forum so other programmers could finish it up: maybe 1 programmer do a zone each that they like. The idea being that since the disassembled and cleaned up ASM source code he was using was originally from other people and posted on github : why not continue that way of development? They helped you: pay it forward.
He never responded. Imagine having a completely random S1,2,3&k. It's possible as was shown. (Note I'm merely a C programmer tho)
Esraels Sonic Delta Origins: you go through all 3(or4) of the genesis platformer games in succession, it's nice. Not a "new game": but it feels like you're really climbing a mountain
Note: I play all of these on real hardware ofcourse so they work there, with a flashcart.

The 2d era of Sonic is the best IMHO: and programmers are still making new ones since they freed the ASM source. I wonder what Naito Ohshima thinks? He seems to like fan made sonic art (and tails), does he like the fan games made for genesis?
Wish: Sonic Triple Trouble 16 bit were ported to the Genesis S3&K engine. The sprites and everything were made with the genesis limitations in mind (color wise), and sound wise. So it could be done.
