Good God KK, put on your big boy pants. Do you really think the boys in JP will give Faulkner the boot? Maybe you have visions of a three guitar band (AKA Iron Maiden)? Not gonna happen. You sound like a little girl complaining that she can't participate in a tea party. Someone take your Barbie?

In 2018 I messaged Andy Sneap.
He was very polite. He said he didn't really want to leave his other work, and agreed to join Judas Priest just out of respect for Glenn, and because he couldn't say no. He added that he wished Downing would be back, but that was unlikely to happen; also that he must "replace Glenn without showing off".
Judas Priest have earlier released a statement in the style of Manowar: they'll be more grandiose... pardon, heavier than ever, and Glenn will continue to tour.

Mike Brewer Bands are more than who plays on the records. Glenn is still legally part of the band. Whether he plays or not he is still in Judas Priest and they can post pics of whomever they want. Sneap is a producer and hired gun. Hired guns don’t usually get included in album art and promo shots. That’s how the business usually works. There are tons of examples of musicians being on album jackets and promo photos when they didnt perform on the record but are part of the band.

Mike Brewer KK is fruitcake. Glenn probably didn't play on every track but he did play on the new album. Google it. To what extent I honestly don't know. You'd have to ask him that question. I don't understand the Parkinsons question. And yes Sneap did play on Firepower AS WELL AS Glenn. Again, Google it. And again, KK is a fruitcake. There is a reason why they wouldn't let him come back to JP.
That is not to say that KK's new music isn't good, I like it.

Nathaniel Noah playing on an album doesn’t make you a member of the band. It makes you a hired hand until you are legally made otherwise. Glenn is legally still a member of JP. Sneap is a producer, studio hand and live hired gun. And im sure he’s paid well for that.

Maybe it's me but I feel the sound of the guitars is weak, maybe is the production but even Rob's voice sounds with too much studio help, in a general way the production sounds without strength, in compares with the brutal sound from KK's Priest this single Judas sound is just generic metal, this time its KK's who sounds as Priest should have to sound

I bet he does... Not surprising they've teamed up anyway, given their similar proclivities. As Downing writes in his book, he is incapable of a mature relationship, likes young girls, and left Judas Priest due to the dreary situation of mortifying boredom with no more young groupies and everyone retiring to their rooms to talk to family...

Absolutely.
In the case with Faulkner, they're merely exploiting him to do the workload, and he's starstruck, laughably imitiating Tipton in terms of stage presence...
Priest themselves couldn't care less about being genuine. Halford seems to have lost his wits, and Tipton was always about "what will the kids like". Pleasers of their inane audience - so a younger "shredder" suited them perfectly. Of course, he slaughters the soul of the songs.

Back in 2018, Downing described "Nostradamus" as "our chance to create something different in the music place that we don't always go to. We have lots of great musicals, and we go into great, prestigious venues, like the Royal Albert Hall or Carnegie Hall — great theaters around the place," he said. "To create something and not let everyone else have all of the spoils — 'Phantom Of The Opera' and 'Cats' and all of these musicals and stuff like that. Why can't we, JUDAS PRIEST, put something that's rock and metal into that musical and entertainment place?

"Okay, we might have been going off on a tangent, getting on the wrong track as far as everybody wanting a [classic-sounding] JUDAS PRIEST record, but looking at the bigger picture of broadening the scope and the horizons of what a rock and metal band can do, it's an opportunity kind of missed through no fault of anyone's except our own record company and management, or whatever, decisions," he continued. "It wasn't to be, and probably it was a good decision. But it's a dream — it's a dream for me. I often think about it."

KK Downing vs. Judas Priest
Guitarist K.K. Downing had some harsh words for his former band Judas Priest on a few occasions in 2022. First, he insisted their plan to tour as a four-piece lineup was “insulting” and “a slap in the face,” before the band dropped those plans. Later, Downing claimed his ex-bandmates broke promises regarding their shared business interests. “I’m still a 25 percent shareholder, but they said it’s worthless, it isn’t worth anything, and they don't pay me anything of anything that I was involved with — period,” Downing said, alleging that it had been five years since he last received income from the group. Months later, Judas Priest was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Downing attended, but things weren’t entirely rosy. Save for the speeches and performances, he was noticeably separated from the band’s current lineup. He was seated in a different area and walked the red carpet with only fellow former member, Les Binks.

Why should we care? US audiences suck, they are trend followers massively subsectible to marketing. US audiences don't stick to their guns (pun intended), they are shallow and not the slightest true. Not all, but vast majority.

When US publishers decided via MTV and music press it's time to kill off Heavy Metal, Hard Rock and Classic Rock in the 90's, US audiences happily complied. Garbage was served, garbage they ate. It's Europe and South America who said NO, it's music we love and will continue to fight for it and Heavy Metal was saved and flourished into new organic styles.

While US brainwashed teens listened to garbage like Slipknot, Linkin Park, Korn or Crazy Town, we enjoyed rejuvenated Maiden, Blind Guardian, HammerFall, Nightwish, Stratovarius, Rhapsody, In Flames and Children of Bodom (and many more fantastic bands ofc). We also enjoyed awesome US bands like Iced Earth and legends like Manowar or Megadeth much more than their native homeland. Therefore I say, fuck US, fuck spineless tastless US audiences and what's "popular" over there. We don't care, and US is self-centered anyway, so why should we bother to give it any attention.

I never gave any fuck that music I adore is not (or how much is) popular in the wasteland called US, why should I start now. 500 or 50.000 attendance at Maiden concert in US, it's all the same to me.

Talking about G'N'R, I've grew up listening to them but artistically and career wise they can't hold a candle to Maiden. They are however more commercial and more popular as a lot of people listen to them nostalgia wise because mainstream music back then had a lot of quality unlike past two and a half decades therefore a lot of people stick to old artists even though they don't release quality music anymore. They have nothing new and commercial to listen to as everything mainstream is garbage.

Personally I don't have a problem with Iron Maiden playing before G'N'R, it's in US and it makes sense. Who doesn't wanna see Axl and co can happily go home. I wish I could attend a Maiden gig that starts earlier than usual.

I’ll count 5 upvotes as a yes. I remember this exchange as if it were yesterday. So I’m 2001 I was still willing to give Ripper Priest a chance even though i couldn’t stand his Midwest accent and the way he extended his Ls. Anyway. I bought Demolition day one and was forcing myself to love most of it and even psyched my wife and a few friends to go see them live. Usually, since we live in the middle of nowhere Texas, we’d go to the Dallas area for concerts. This time when the dates were announced I saw that in San Antonio that Megadeth and Anthrax would be opening. So a no brainer for us. I kept up with presales and such through the old Usenet newsgroup. And would check the ticket website 2-3 times a day for cancellations or anything that could go wrong. They were booked I believe in the Freeman Coliseum and we bought tickets pretty close to the front. Then one day when my OCD got the better of me I checked the site for changes and sure enough, something had changed. They were now booked at the Sunken Garden Amphitheater which from what I heard was a pretty cool place to see a show even though it was at the zoo. (In 1999 we saw Maiden reunion at a bowling alley in Dallas, so why not right?) This was late at night when I had checked so I shot Jayne an email that stated the following Good morning, Jayne. Greetings from Texas. I am so excited to catch Priest this year but I noticed there was venue change in San Antonio and we have already purchased tickets. Do you know if there will be refunds issued? As I understand, the Sunken Garden Amphitheater is all festival seating and we paid extra for floor seats. Apologies if you’re not the person I need to be asking but as you always say, you are the person to contact with anything Judas Priest related. Thank you for your time

I went to bed and when I woke up and finished my routine I checked my email and, holy shit, she already replied! I was a bit excited about it because she had taken the time to answer some random Joe’s question. Wow! I read the following in, I shit you not, all caps YES. GOOD MORNING TO YOU AS WELL. I’VE NO CLUE WHAT YOU ARE EVEN TALKING ABOUT. WE KNOW NOTHING OF A VENUE CHANGE AND HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS SINKING GARDENS VENUE. I KNOW YOU LOT LIKE TO TAKE THE PISS BECAUSE I’M A WOMAN MANAGING THE MOST FAMOUS METAL BAND IN THE WORLD BUT LET ME ASSURE YOU IF THERE WERE A CHANGE IN VENUE YOU WOULD HEAR IT FROM ME FIRST AND NOT SOME RANDOM WEBSITE SELLING TICKETS ON. YOU’VE PROBABLY NOT EVEN BOUGHT TICKETS YET SO ON THAT NOTE PISS OFF

I was hot. I’m getting heated now just thinking about it. I can be pretty nasty and if I had replied it would have ended with her in tears and me feeling guilty a few days later so I figured I’d wait a couple of days. I checked the newsgroup that night and no chatter. The very next day I woke up and checked and lo and behold! A message from Jayne in the newsgroup copied from the official Priest website that read Attention San Antonio fans! We are excited to announce a venue change! Judas Priest will now be performing at the Sunken Garden Amphitheater. We are also excited to announce that tickets already purchased will be honored at the new venue so no need to repurchase your tickets! This is very exciting news and we hope to see you all there!

This dirty bitch. I replied to her email and told her I think an apology is in order and she still needs to answer for those of us who bought floor seats being compensated. She never responded and after a month we got a full refund anyway. 9/11 happened and the tour was canceled “because they couldn’t get into the country due to the terrorist attacks”. The reality was the tickets were not moving and even with Megadeth and Anthrax on the bill there was little to no interest. Which makes me sad. I still have the tickets. They read TWIN TOWERS OF METAL JUDAS PRIEST • MEGADETH

If something went shit for Priest after 1985 you can bet it was due to her. Awful, spiteful, hateful bitch with esteem issues.

He brought his own manager on board when he returned. Don’t know if he kept him this long. And I definitely don’t see why they keep renewing with Curbishley if Andrews is all the better he can do for them. If they’re still with him at all. I haven’t kept up in years. But I do know she is the drizzling shits. And if Tipton was really the leader he fancies himself as he’d have had her shitcanned long ago. No further proof needed that she latched onto him and didn’t let go. If they had a Smallwood like manager they have been out every single summer when there was money to be made and not around Glenn’s family schedule.

Judas Priest should be just as big as Metallica right now but management really does make all the difference in the world. You have to wonder how much bigger Painkiller (or Turbo for that matter) would have been with a less shitty manager. She really is the real life Janine Garafallo. Fuck Jayne Andrews. It's so depressing.

"(In 1999 we saw Maiden reunion at a bowling alley in Dallas)"

Not as depressing as this though, holy shit.

Actually that was one of the better shows I’ve ever seen. I meant to expound upon and forgot. The 99 micro reunion tour was like a test to see if the fans were primed for a reunion. I was never a Blaze fan. I liked a few songs but his voice was not it for me. So we get tickets day of sale and the best we could get we’e middle balcony about ten rows from the floor and to the right of the stage. Go to work and brag about getting tickets and one of the guys asks where they are playing. I tell him The Bronco Bowl. He stares at me for a second and says “The bowling alley?” “What?” “The Bronco Bowl is a bowling alley.” I go to the office and beg my boss to let me look something up online real quick. Sure as shit it was a Bowling Alley. With 50 lanes, a 25 table billiard room, a night club with a nearly 1,000 person capacity and a 3500 seat arena to top it off. I felt the jitters all the way there, what if they cancel, what if not enough people show and they cancel. Need not have worried at all. The place was packed. Aside from the fight over someone sitting in our seats and the shitty opening acts (Puya and Pushmonkey) maiden fucking killed it that night. It was a comfortable 72 degrees during the support and when the place started filling up it got a bit warm. As soon as Aces High kicked in they set off pyro and it was instantly 120° in there. But for 105 minutes it didn’t matter. When it ended we were covered in sweat. We walked out into 106° heat in the parking lot and felt relief instanter. Got safely to the hotel and had my way with her. Best wife and one of our best nights and then sleep. But not much. We had to be at work at 2 the next afternoon. Made it with time to spare and we stopped at the Smokestack for lunch. It’s been a long time since we’ve been to a concert. Getting old now but some great fucking memories were made.

Now about Jayne Andrews, if she was really for the band she’d have told the rest of the band of Glenn’s touring intentions instead of supporting him. She’d have made out better also as she’s entitled to her cut. She is the reason Priest did not dominate the end of the 80s. I understand that Glenn was older and wanted to spend time and to a degree I respect it even. But to hold the rest of the ban hostage during the lucrative summer season was just ridiculous.
