Older models are on eBay for a fraction of the newest machine's price, while even older models have optical drives for easy backups and dirt-cheap second-hand movies & TV shows watching...
12,1" SV line in some models still with optical drive in around 1kg laptop with far better structural rigidity, or Toughbook semi-rugged derivatives of small Let's Note line with removable display/tablet are even better though...
Apple, nor most of the other manufacturers have nothing that can touch Panasonic in this niche segment for years despite it is ideal for travelers who may want special features like Blu-Ray drive (last optionally found on SV-2), or LTE internet in a 1kg laptop not made in China, which is the reason why you may want to buy it used, instead of new...
One could wonder why was Panasonic not interested selling SV line to the Western public despite having no competition for years is rather interesting because FV4 presented in this video have a lot of competition, while ability to easily replace battery is with Thunderbolt ports rather unnecessary as you can just pack battery bank, or solar panel for hikers instead of additional laptop battery to fulfill the same purpose without risking fire due to damage to extra laptop battery, which body was not designed to take damage during travel as well...
So, if you want to have a 1kg 12,1" magnesium laptop with optical drive & LTE, then hurry up before all SV line laptops currently on eBay/Amazon and similar sites are gone, as all manufacturers are switching to more profitable "you own nothing" web services business model due to which you will be hard pressed to find laptops with optical drive outside 14+ inch semi/fully rugged laptops...
I managed to snap mine 2019 used model with LTE and optical drive for under 200$, which is a steal for a magnesium body beater travel laptop that can be connected to a portable solar panel with a great camera when compared to anything new you can hope to buy under 1000$ outside old new stock deals...
Panasonic was making great laptops which unfortunately next to nobody in
